Ronaldo beats Messi to Champions League record

Juventus ace, Cristiano Ronaldo, has beaten longstanding rival Lionel Messi to become the first player to reach 100 wins in the Champions League.
A goal by Mario Mandzukic on Tuesday was enough for Juventus to beat Valencia to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League for the fifth year in a row, setting a club record.
The former Real Madrid player played a vital role in the match-winning goal as he provided the assist for Mandzukic in the 59th minute.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner got his 100th Champions League win making him the first player ever to get that.
Former Manchester United and Real Madrid star Ronaldo won the competition at both clubs, winning the trophy in each of the last three seasons with the LaLiga giants.
Should Juventus claim the 2018/2019 Champions League glory, Ronaldo will also be the first player to win a Champions League title in three leagues, having already won trophies with Manchester United and Real Madrid.
He is the competition’s all-time top-scorer, with 121 goals so far and also the player with the second highest appearances in the top European competition, only behind Iker Casillas.
